Earning the title of “Airline of the Year” from Skytrax, Qatar Airways makes a historic comeback to the top eight times.
The five-star airline was also recognized with three more distinguished honors: “Best Airline in the Middle East,” “World’s Best Business Class,” and “World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge.
In the history of Skytrax, Qatar Airways becomes the first airline group to win Best Airline, Best Airport, and Best Airport Shopping all in the same year.
Qatar’s capital, Doha Skytrax has named Qatar Airways the “Airline of the Year,” propelling the airline to the top for an unprecedented eighth time. This accolade demonstrates the airline’s steadfast dedication to quality. Three further honors were given to the five-star airline: “Best Airline in the Middle East,” “World’s Best Business Class,” and “World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge.”
Hamad International Airport, the home and hub of Qatar Airways, was recently recognized by Skytrax as the “World’s Best Airport” for the third consecutive year. Additionally, the airport was named the eighth “Best Airport in the Middle East,” and Qatar Duty Free, the airport’s retail outlet, was named “World’s Best Airport Shopping” for the second year in a row. With this incredible accomplishment, an airline, an airport, and the airport’s retail have all been named “World’s Best” in all three Skytrax categories for the first time.
Since 2011, Qatar Airways has won Airline of the Year eight times, including this year. Considered by many to be “the Oscars of the aviation industry,” the Skytrax World Airline Awards stand for the highest honor in aviation.
